#1 Greg Oden Lawrence North HS

We know that you have seen a lot of rankings, but these are the only ones that matter. Take away the politics and hype and this is what you get:
6'10/204 WF - DC Blue Devils

1. Greg Oden 7’0 Lawrence North HS (Indianapolis IN) Ohio State
Oden was dominating before he got his new mean streak. The big fella still has his grace on offense and shot blocking on defense, but now he is playing with more intensity and not taking any nonsense from opposing players.

2. Kevin Durant 6’9 Montrose Christian (MD)Texas*pictured right*
Durant’s game is something that you make on a NBA Live video game. He is 6’9 with a 99 rating in shooting, court awareness, rebounding, and shot blocking. The scary thing is that he still has a lot of upside.

3. Derrick Caracter 6'9 (Notre Dame Prep) Louisville

It seems like people in this business are dropping Caracter to send him a message that he needs to work harder. The truth of the matter is that he is a top ten talent on his worst day. Caracter is actually playing harder and he has toned up his body. We will step out on the limb and write that there are only two guys over 6’10 that have a better mixture of skill, size, and agility than Caracter. Their names are Tim Duncan and Shaquille Oneal. It may sound crazy now, but holla back at us in three years.

4. Paul Harris 6’4 (Notre Dame Prep) Syracuse
His critics say his jumper is broke and he does not have a position. We say his jumper is broke, but he can score as well as anyone. The critics are half right about Harris not having a position. He is so versatile he can play and shut down the one, two, or three.

5. Thaddeus Young 6’7 Memphis HS (Mitchell, TN)
When we first saw him in the 2003 Kingdom of the Sun tournament, we wrote that he had the talent to be a pro out of high school. David Stern new NBA rule is the only thing that is preventing us from being right.
